ARTIM PROJECT Space features the group exhibition “DYSPHONIA” with works by Hatem Alizadeh, Mousa Beyzade, Ali Hasanov, Novruz Mammadov, Philipp Messner, Seymur Seyidbeyli and Sabit Zamanov.
Dysphonia is a clinical term that describes a dysfunction in the ability to produce voice caused by an excessive use that can result in hoarseness or even in the complete loss of voice. In the exhibition the artists explore tense situations and overstimulation possibly leading to a dead end, a rigid, unease state on different levels. The works cluster around topics of increasing information flooding, noise pollution, psychological conflicts, uncertain situations and unfulfilled desires. The exhibition creates visual and acoustical connections of the urban, inner, digital and outer space shifting between isolation and exposure, easiness and seriousness, humor and frustration reflecting on perception and bipolar valuation.
ARTIM is directed at young Azerbaijani artists with an intention to support and encourage emergent talent to grow. The programme has a designated exhibition space in Old City that was conceived as a platform for experimenting and professionally showcasing art. Artworks resulting from the programme are exhibited at the ARTIM Project Space, Baku. etdirməkdir.
