OVERVIEW

Faig Ahmed has risen to worldwide acclaim in the past few years, having been nominated for the prestigious Jameel Prize in 2013 and now in 2015 embarking on a solo exhibition in Rome's Montoro 12 Contemporary Art. He has been active since 2003, in which time his work has evolved, concentrating more recently on subtle transformations of the traditional Azerbaijani carpet patterns and traditions to create something new and subtly provocative.
