OPEN CALL: ARTIM – ONLINE EXHIBITION

YARAT Contemporary Art Space announces an open call for artists and creatives to submit an artwork for a Virtual ARTIM show.

The global coronavirus crisis forces people to isolate themselves, for some an unbearable case for others a valuable opportunity.

The current situation paralyzes the whole world and raises many questions reflected in political calls of states of emergencies, economical challenges that are not only threatening small companies but also entire states, safety measures on the edge of protection and interference in people's privacy. In the same way, a wave of solidarity is formed by fundraising calls for the most needy and an increased state of creativity can be observed, not only to fill in long quarantine hours, but also to substitute resources that have become rare. Questions in personal life are also becoming more urgent, people are confronted with themselves and their families, and discussions on issues of domestic violence are taken up. Likewise, public life is increasingly being transformed into virtual space: virtual friend meetings, opera and museums visits – the possibilities of the digital space seems to be infinite but also raises concerns. 

We are inviting artists and creatives to submit an artwork related to the experience of quarantine due of Covid-19 that offer an opportunity of a deeper reflection on the current situation.

We are interested to see your narrative on the exceptional situation and how you are dealing with the special condition of quarantine; we want to know which questions are most significant for you to be discussed.

Selected works will be displayed in a virtual exhibition.
