Dear friends!
This Friday our guest will be the poetess and playwright Leyla Begim. We are pleased to invite everyone to join us on the first floor of YARAT Contemporary Art Centre.
Leyla Begim was born in Baku, but currently is living in the Czech Republic. She is member of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers, member of the Union of Russian-Speaking Writers of the Czech Republic. She is the author of four poetry collections published in Russia and Prague. Leyla’s poems in Russian were published in various newspapers, miscellanies and literary journals in Russia and Baku. Her sonnets, translated into Czech by Milan Dvořák, were published in the literary journal "Tvař".
Four plays were written by Leyla in collaboration with the Israeli writer and director Yefim Abramov.
The play "Two leaves of mint for love" was translated into Czech by Milan Dvořák. Production of the play “Dreaming boys” is underway in one of the Baku state theaters at the moment.
Leyla is the founder of Azerbaijani jewelry brand "JAFAROV" in Germany.
