DANCE WORKSHOP BY AGNE RAMANAUSKAITE

15 Apr 15

Dance Workshop by Agne Ramanauskaite

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites professional artists and dancers to take part in a one-day workshop directed by Agne Ramanauskaite.

The class will focus on the development of a natural and spontaneous sense of movement based on a sensitive approach through articulation and body consciousness. Elements like flow, weight, physical energy and relationship with the space are some of the keywords used during the process of nurturing the students’ dancing body. The modern techniques applied are mixed in order to cultivate a more diverse dance vocabulary. At the same time, this approach allows the students to identify which mechanisms relate better to their physical demands, while building up their own moving qualities.

Agne Ramanauskaite – dancer, actor and teacher who recently and very successfully has tried herself out as choreographer as well.

Agne received her professional degree at The Lithuanian Theatre and Music Academy (MA in Acting - Contemporary Dance). Since graduating in 2009, she has participated in various dance trainings and is still improving her professional skills in different workshops.

As actor and dancer, Agne has been working with many well-known theatre directors (such as Oskaras Kosrunovas, Jonas Vaitkus and Agnius Jankevicius) and choreographers (Vytis Jankauskas, Aira Nagineviciute and Jerome Meyer) and has created over 25 roles on different stages in Lithuania and abroad.

Throughout the season of 2012 - 2013, Agne created memorable roles in the National Drama Theatre and Lithuanian Youth Theater, in collaboration with the Korzo Theater (the Netherlands) and choreographer Jerome Meyer premiered in the dance piece ‘W(o)men’ and debuted as choreographer at the Arts Printing House.

Together with her long time stage partners Mantas Stabacinskas and Paulius Tamole, Agne participated in the ‘Open Stage’ programme for young artists hosted by Arts Printing House (Lithuania) and presented an ironic contemporary dance performance, ‘Contemporary?’ which gained her a Golden Stage Cross (2013), the prestigious Lithuanian theatre award.
