YARAT Contemporary Art Space is delighted to to attend the screening of the Wounded Angel, a 2016 Kazakhstani drama film directed by Emir Baigazin. The film was shown in the Panorama section at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.

In Kazakhstan life is hard and childhood, as we know it, is virtually non-existent. Children and adults alike do what they can to get by. Emir Baigazin's remarkable. virtually plot less film is divided into a number of chapters, each one examining boys struggling with the pain of the everyday and a life, if a life it is, far removed from what we in the West are used to.
The film will be introduced by our guest speaker, a renown film critic Nargiz Shukenova
Film will be shown in qazakh with Russian subtitles.
