YARAT Film Club presents an Azerbaijani director Elkhan Jafarov’s “Interrupted memories” movie, devoted to 70th anniversary of Victory Day.
The movie is produced by “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio named after Jafar Jabbarli.

Cast: Shamil Suleimanov, Bahruz Vagifoghlu, Gulzar Gurbanova, Rza Rzayev, Gurban Ismayilov, Javanshir Hadiyev, Rovshan Agayev, Mikhail Kaminsky, Andrei Milyuhin and Veronica Plyashkevich are mainly from Azerbaijan and Belarus
Some well-known russian, georgian and german actors took part in the movie, too.
The movie is based on a true story. The main character is an Azerbaijani man - Daniyal Abdullayev who recalls his youth memories. For him, as the defender of the Brest fortress, the war began in 1941. During the battles, he got into a concentration camp in Dubica, and later escaped to join the partisans in those territories. About 200 residents of Brest participated in the crowd scenes. They acted as the defenders of the citadel, as the partisans, as the prisoners of war and as the Germans in the movie. International team of professional artists worked together with them on the set.
The first part of the movie was shot in Belarus - Brest and Minsk. Some movie scenes were made at the Brest fortress and Dubica. There are two parallel storylines developed in the movie. These are the Great Patriotic War and the tragic episode from the history of modern Azerbaijan - the war in Karabakh.
