FREESTYLE: JAZZ-MUGHAM NIGHT WITH FRENCH AND AZERBAIJANI MUSICIANS

YARAT Contemporary Art Space pleased to invite you to the exclusive concert on February 29, 2016, a magnificent artistic performance of French musician Pierre de Trégomainin together with four main representatives of Azerbaijani music. The concert is organized jointly by French Institute in Azerbaijan, French Embassy, YARAT Contemporary Art Centre and popular French brand “Président” in the framework of the French musician’s first visit to Azerbaijan. 

The event organised in frame YARAT Freestyle project, an open platform for everyone who looks to engage creatively with a broad and diverse audience. 

YARAT FREESTYLE aims to set up a scene for creative groups and individuals and is open to actors, dancers, performance artists, musicians and other cultural practitioners. Anyone with a project or an idea can reach out to us.

Pierre de Trégomainin’s music project:

First visit to Azerbaijan – In search of new sounds and new experiences, meeting with the traditional music of Azerbaijan – Mugham. 

Pierre de Trégomainin is a French jazz musician and singer, he has extensive experience in a variety of musical styles. The singer who is always trying to find new sounds and music (his last album “Shelter” combining pop, jazz and baroque is an evidence of that) is now in search of traditional music genres of the oriental world. He has been referring to world music, especially Pakistani and Iranian Sufi songs in his works for several years. He intends to benefit from Mugham, which is emotionally meaningful, reflecting in-depth and comprehensive intelligence, art excitement and development of different musical images, in his works, as well.
