Poetics of the cinema

“Dubbing room” – the place where the mystery of sound is created, and movie characters receive their completeness. There is something magical in the atmosphere of this place, in its reigning dimness, and people, ready to be the voices of film characters by spending long hours in order to find the right colors or intonations. The man at the microphone is similar to the Creator, bringing screen universe to life with his voice. If it wasn't for him, the world would be inhabited by silent movie ghosts.

“Poetics of the cinema: Dubbing room” – is already the third joint project of YARAT Contemporary Art Centre and director Alexander Dzyuba.

As the part of the evening, 5 modern Azerbaijani poets will deliver new poetic reading of 5 cult movies which have been included in the Golden Fund of world cinema long ago.

The uniqueness of this project is not only in the synthesis of literature and cinema, but also in courage of authors to interpret the classics movies. You will find a delightful and surprising cocktail of Bergman, Tarkovsky, Fellini, Kubrick and Bertolucci.
The final performance will be held on May 3, 2016
