YARAT FILM CLUB: VAHID VAKILIFAR'S FILM 'TABOOR' IN FRAME 3RD BAKU PUBLIC ART

YARAT Contemporary Art Space Film Club invites to the Vahid Vakilifar's film screening 'Taboor' 3 July 2015. The screening will be organized as a part of in frame 3rd Baku Public Art Festival `A Drop Of Sky` curated by Sara Raza. 

A series of film screenings inspired by science fiction and futurism will run from July to August at YARAT Contemporary Art Centre’s auditorium and open air cinema on the rooftop of YAY Gallery.

Synopsis: A man seeks to protect his hypersensitive body from a daily rise in temperature caused by pervasive electromagnetic waves. He concocts an aluminum jumpsuit which he wears under abundant layers of clothing. Despite his fragile health, every evening he rides his motorbike to keep appointments with his customers. His mission: to destroy cockroach nests. After each mission the man plunges into the dark heart of the city, crisscrossing the far flung streets of a megapolis in which time has stood still and from which the tumult of the day has disappeared. While awaiting the dawn, he must confront the many intrigues of the night.

Vahid Vakilifar (1981, Iran) studied film directing at the Soureh University in Tehran. Since then he has worked as assistant director on several feature-film productions. In 2004 he completed Havery, his first short film. Gesher, his feature film debut, brought Vakilifar several awards. Films: Roussariye kordi/Havery (2004, short), Gesher (2010), Taboor (2012)
