YARAT FILM CLUB URBAN MOTIVES FILMS SERIES 1 PART

10 Nov 15

YARAT Contemporary Art Centre are pleased to invite you to a next meeting of the Film Club which has already turned into an informal meeting point for discussion of contemporary cinematograph. We invite you to watch a short films series "Urban Motives" by different directors from different countries. The series will be shown in 2 parts: 10th and 24th November.

«Urban motives» is a film anthology consisting of 5  short films, each by a different director. The short films all relate in some way to the subject of urban life and are set among different districts of Baku. 5 Azeribaijani filmmakers are exploring the dark and sunny sides of life in the megapolis. There is a wide existential gap between the characters in all five stories, but the city stands out to form the main focus as it is shown with much love and sweet melancholy. Urban Motives premiered at the Festival of the East European Cinema in Cottbus, Germany in November 2015, and was released in Azerbaijan on August 2, 2015 on the National Cinema Day.
