YARAT Education announces LECTURE BY FRENCH ARCHITECT ODILE DECQ

With the support of YARAT Contemporary Art Space, the French Institute in Azerbaijan invites you to attend a lecture by architect Odile Decq that will take place at 17:00 on 15th November at the State University of Architecture and Construction. 

Odile Decq is a French architect and urban specialist. She has had some notable international success with construction of Banque Populaire de l'Ouest (Western Public Bank) in Rhein, a project that won her global acclaim. Odile now questions the concepts of utility, material choice, body of work, technical realization and fine taste while her work offers a somewhat paradoxical overview of our present reality both harsh and tender.

She has received a Golden Lion Award in Venice in 1996 and ever since remained loyal to her style as she tried to deepen and diversify her research. Odile Decq holds the credit for designing MACRO (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Rome in 2010 and l'Opéra Garnier restaurant in 2011. Her latest projects include FRAC (Museum of Contemporary Art in Rhein). She will talk about her upcoming projects and the projects that she realized through this lecture entitled “Horizons”.
