YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites you to attend a lecture by John Bela, co-founder and director of Rebar Group, an interdisciplinary studio operating at the intersection of art, design and activism. The group’s work encompasses visual and conceptual public art, landscape design, urban intervention, temporary performance installation, digital media and print design.
John Bela will share examples from Rebar’s work and go deep into the social and political dynamics of projects such as Park(ing) Day, the development of the Parklet program, Commonspace, The Civic Center Victory Garden as well as share precedents from other art and design practices.
The lecture will take place at 19:00, Tuesday August 6, 2013.
