YARAT WEEKLY TALKS: NIGAR KOCHARLI
TALK TO US
YARAT Contemporary Art Centre established the discussion platform in order to discuss its usual collection and current exhibitions. We will organize weekly meetings with artists, writers, musicians, researchers, businessmen and public figures during these series of events.
We will ask famous figures to share their ideas about the modern art and about selected pieces from our collection and to hold dialogues with the event participants as well.
We invite you to become a partner in the discussion and join the upcoming talk to be held on December 4th, 2015. This talk will be delivered by Nigar Kocharli, the founder of the National Book Award.
Nigar Kocharli is the owner of “Ali & Nino” bookshops and café, and founder of the National Book Award of Azerbaijan.
Nigar Kocharli graduated from Baku State University, and worked for several campaigns, including one for the UN in 2001. That year, she started a business, opening Ali and Nino bookshops, which remain among the most famous bookstores in Azerbaijan. The stores are named after the novel of the same name. Soon after opening the bookstores, she founded the "Azerbaijani National Book Award", which aims to develop modern Azerbaijani literature.
