MEET THE ARTIST: ELCHIN VELIYEV

YARAT Contemporary Art Space is kindly invited to attend the next event in the framework of our “Meet the artist” programme, which will help you to familiarize yourself with various mediums and techniques used by contemporary artists.
The goal of the project is to create an opportunity for participants to get introduced to various forms of art making.
Artists of different generations will share personal experiences of working with different media and materials. Participants will be given simple assignments that they will try to fulfill in accordance with the methodology of the guest speaker/artist.
Learn the secrets of the artist. How does he make his work?
All events will be open to the public and will take place in the museum space.
This Thursday, March 2nd , you’re invited to attend a talk on Hyperrealism by Elchin Veliyev.
Elchin Veliyev has graduated from the Russian Art Academy named after Repin. He currently lives and works in Baku. Some of his recent oil paintings incorporate traditional carpet patterns and have a peculiar 3-D effect.
