Private Museum: Results exhibition of Guram Tsibakhashvili's photography workshop

22 Sep - 25 Sep 13

Works to be exhibited in Art Villa Exhibition Hall

Private Mumseum is a photo exhibition organised by YARAT Contemporary Art Space, featuring works by the participants of a contemporary photography workshop by renowned Georgian artist Guram Tsibakhashvili.

We often own things that have no special meaning for anyone but us - an old family photo or a postcard, а broken toy or a tea cup with a small crack, a clock that stopped long ago… These things are all close to our hearts because they have a story behind them. There is some part of our soul living in each of these objects.

Workshop participants searched for these little 'treasures' in private collections and took photos of them. Photos featuring each of these small art pieces will be presented along with a story that explain why it is so special.

This exhibition features works by Sayyara Neymatova, Mark Rafaelov, Ismail Huseynov, Marta Ramazanova, Khadija Movsum-zade, Amina Balaoglanova, Bahar Alizade, Chinara Mejidova, Aysel Amirova, Sitara Abdullayeva, Aysel Nagiyeva, Pakiza Bayramova, Aysel Rahimli, Arzu Murvatova, Aziz Karimov, Bahar Alizade, Emin Mammadov, Leyla Baghirli, Nurana Novruzova, Rasim Abdurrehmanov, Seljan Gurbanova,  Seymur Abbasov, Seymur Asad, Shargiyya Hasanova and Aysel Rahimli.

Guram Tsibakhashvili was born in 1960 in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. In 1982 he graduated from Tbilisi State University and from 1990 to 1994 he taught the theory of photography at Tbilisi State University. Since 1988, he has been working for Georgian newspapers and magazines as a photographer. In 2000 he co-founded the Caucasian Centre for Cultural Development and in 2007 the Tbilisi Photographer House. In 2007 he became chief editor of Foro Amarta magazine.
